Born and raised in Dallas Texas, Mr. Carroll was attached to a branch of U.S. Intelligence on three continents for 5 years during the turmoil of the mid-70’s. Mr. Carroll, upon detachment from government service, entered the employ of Pinkerton’s International as an undercover agent in 1978. One of his first assignments was in an asbestos manufacturing plant in Texas. This long-term undercover operation led to the initial filings towards effective litigation of asbestos claims brought by Baron & Budd as well as other firms. His covert efforts were instrumental to the original verdicts and judgments in the hundreds of millions, now 30 billion dollars settlement that is still ongoing as a legal cottage industry with the continued mesothelioma cases today.
In 1980 he and two others formed Carroll Investigations and Security Co. #C-02824 (1980), the original iteration of an ongoing investigative apparatus that has existed for over 45 years. The company CISC was sold in 1988, at which time Mr. Carroll entered a medical program, expanding his academic experience and knowledge into direct clinical practice; primarily in neonatal and pediatric ICU and ER and Transport for two decades. Later, Mr. Carroll was engaged as full-time faculty professor in a degreed medical program (nursing and respiratory therapist) from 2005 to 2010.
Concurrent to working in the medical profession and as an academic, from 1995 to 2010 Mr. Carroll, developed Carroll and Associates – A Private Investigations Company #A-08020 (1995) a licensed undercover operations specialty agency, working within healthcare facilities and systems, among others; and expanded operations across the U.S. In 2010 he formed Carroll & Associates #A-16653, which has specialized in Insurance Investigations, criminal and civil investigations and operates as a full-service agency. In 2021, Carroll & Associates rebranded to become INTEGRIT Risk Services, offering Nationwide Coverage for all insurance-oriented investigations and claims management, and provides investigative services to numerous law firms and legal professionals in DFW, and beyond.
INTEGRIT Risk is today operating nationwide, with agents available in every major market, as well as Mexico and the UK.
Author of “Surveillance Survival Series” an all-encompassing, soon to be offered, 3-day course on surveillance and covert information gathering, specific to the insurance industry and it’s needs. Mr. Carroll has been an expert provider of educational opportunities for insurance, investigative and medical professionals for over 25 years. Another new offering to come is a CE 1-2-hr “Ethics and Regulatory Issues for Private Investigators” is available, as well as newly released "How to Make Six-Figures a Year in Insurance Investigations (without really trying)" a 1-2-hr class that opens a lot of eyes, and doors, into insurance fraud investigations and the dynamics involved in successfully making a living in the challenging market.
Mr. Carroll is a highly regarded professional and leader within the investigations and claims/risk management industry. As a past Texas Association of Licensed Investigators - Region 1 Board Director and Chair of the Unlicensed Committee, as well as member of California Association of Licensed Investigators and Florida Association of Licensed Investigators and other organizations, he has devoted his time and efforts to improving the reputation of the investigations industry by educating end users of investigative services via conferences and CE classes nationwide, as well as offering classes, guidance and mentorship to Texas investigators, and others throughout the U.S.
