U S Marine Corp; Airborne Recon, Special Forces, Combat Related, Vietnam.
1965
Joined the United States Marine Corp to oppose communism, worked in overseas combat assignments; attached to I Corps Marine Security, providing personal security for US Army Advisers to local troops, also member with the Combined Action Program, CAP, a small Marine Team working with a Navy Corpsman living and working outside the wire with locals doing civil affairs and counter insurgency work. Airborne, Recon Marine, achieving various awards, expert rifleman and honorably discharge.
1968
Joined HFC Consumer Finance Corporation as a Management Trainee, studying the art of lending related to assessing credit worthiness, with in depth interviewing to determine the quality of an individuals character, capacity to repay as well as to evaluate collateral values all with systematic documentation to support repayment ability, communicating well for highly successful outcomes, including collection negotiation and skip tracing. Worked in management progressively in three states.
1977
Joined Mutual of New York (MONY), in Life Insurance sales, specifically involving the office’s successful use of what was new at the time the very comprehensive "Capital Needs Analysis" Program (Attorney and CPA backed), designed to assess wealthy client needs to off set the consequences of death taxes and the potential need to liquidate a business or family assets, due to the death of a principal.
1978 - 1994
Over all in Banking and Finance worked a significant period in National, Regional as well as a Small Family owned State Bank in various management and officer positions. In the course of my banking career graduated Banking School and earned a ABA degree in Commercial Lending, and worked as a commercial lender with larger credits including government SBA loans.
1996
For a year worked as a Recruiter, recruiting object oriented software coders and developers for aspiring and growing technology companies.
1998
On a one year contract worked as the Executive Officer for a Regional Board of Realtors Association doing association management for the board of directors, code of ethics investigations and enforcement, also serving as the primary political representative traveling to the State Capitol and Washington DC representing the political concerns and needs for Regional Realtors.
1999
Transitioning to Real Estate Sales with the largest Real Estate Brokerage in the area, became an Associate Broker, Certified International Property Specialist, Graduate of the Realtor Institute, Certified Residential Specialist and in 2008 was noted in Hawaii Business Magazine as one of the Top 100 Realtors in the State. Opened my own Boutique Brokerage in 2016 and subsequently closed the brokerage and moved to Texas.
2022
In Texas with an on going interest in education and interest in criminal investigation, became a State Licensed Investigator and member of Texas Association of Licensed Investigators and the Dallas Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners for the continuing educational opportunities, which have been numerous.
Other Areas of High Interest:
Served as Volunteer State Certified EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) using the best equipment with significant experience with100+ calls of all kinds in a remote local where we were the only emergency medical service to the community. Past President Kona Kohala Chamber of Commerce. Founding President Kona Toastmasters Club, also Founding President Elect, Friends of the Children’s Advocacy Center, a coalition between the Judiciary and the Community, primarily as fund raisers to advance the well-being of abused children. Past Board Member, Cambodia Mission Outreach in Phnom Penh to support a "Killing Field" survivor who established a Christian Church and Preschool there, past volunteer in a Community Emergency Response Team.
Dedicated to God, Family, Our Fellow Citizens and Freedom under our Constitution and Bill of Rights, with a life long enthusiasm for work and learning, scuba diving, boating, hunting, sport shooting and great dogs.
